Description

Price is per meter with no maximum length

Built for reliable rocket recovery, our Kevlar Shock Cords offer exceptional strength, heat resistance and durability for repeated flights, helping protect your rocket during deployment and descent. Unlike elastic alternatives, Kevlar performs exceptionally well near hot ejection gases while maintaining high tensile strength and low stretch. Available in multiple sizes to suit different rocket classes:

  • 100 lbf Kevlar – approx. 0.08 cm (0.030″) outer diameter, ~0.4 g weight, ideal for low-power rockets;
  • 750 lbf Kevlar – approx. 0.18 cm (0.070″) outer diameter, ~2.4 g weight, suited to mid-power and smaller high-power recovery systems;
  • 1500 lbf Kevlar – approx. 0.35 cm (0.137″) outer diameter, ~7 g weight, designed for larger, heavier rockets and demanding recovery loads.

Safety Notice

Model and high-power rocketry activities must be conducted in accordance with all local laws, regulations, and safety requirements. Always fly at approved launch sites using appropriate safety procedures and launch equipment.

Rocket motors, igniters, and launch systems are sold separately unless otherwise stated. Adult supervision is recommended for younger builders.

Always inspect your rocket before flight and follow manufacturer’s motor instructions, established range safety practices, and guidance from recognised rocketry organisations such as Tripoli Rocketry Association.

In Australia, additional restrictions may apply regarding launch altitude, approved launch locations, transportation, and motor usage. Users are responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and flying safely at all times.

For Australian aviation and launch regulations relating to model rocketry, please refer to the CASA Model Aircraft & Rocketry Information.
